Breaking News: Big Blow For Indian Team Just Ahead Of First T20 World Cup Match Against Pakistan

Big blow for the Indian team just ahead of the T20 Women’s World Cup 2022. Indian vice-captain Smriti Mandhana is ruled out from the opening match of the Women’s T20 World Cup against Pakistan on February 12th due to her finger injury.

As per the report, she needs more time to recover from the finger injury that she sustained during the practice match against Australia. The Indian opener injured a finger on his hand while fielding during Monday’s warm-up match against Australia. As a result, Mandhana missed India’s second warm-up match against Bangladesh on Wednesday.

In the last two years, Mandhana performed exceptionally well in every format of cricket. She was the leading run-scorer for India in the 2021 T20 World Cup, with an average of 46.00 and a strike rate of 138. He scored 235 runs in just 5 innings, with his highest score being 83 not out. Similarly, in the 2022 T20 World Cup, Mandhana continued her fine form and was once again one of the brilliant performers for India.

Mandhana’s sizzling knock at the match’s start has given the mid-order batters the freedom to play the free hand. So her absence from the first match against Pakistan could be a big loss for the Indian team. Jemimah Rodrigues will open the innings with Shafali Verma in place of Mandhana in the first World Cup match against Pakistan on February 12th.
