Breaking News: BCCI Announced Bumrah’s Replacement For T20 World Cup 2022

BCCI has announced the replacement of leading Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Mohammad Shami will replace him in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Jasprit Bumrah’s injury emerged after the squad’s announcement for the T20 World Cup. Indian cricket fans and experts were assuming Md. Shami is the perfect replacement but the call for Md. Siraj and Shardul Thakur left experts guessing.

The official Twitter handle of BCCI announced this replacement on Friday. “The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Mohammed Shami as Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement in India’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad. Shami has reached Australia and will link up with the squad in Brisbane ahead of the warm-up matches,” said in the release by JAY SHAH, Honorary Secretary of BCCI.

The veteran seamer went through many fitness issues in previous days and after regaining full fitness from NCA, he took the flight to Australia on Thursday and has joined the rest of the Indian squad members in Brisbane.

Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur have been named as backups and will travel to Australia shortly. India will open their encounter on 23rd October against Pakistan. It will be interesting to see how Rohit bowler will perform in the upcoming mega event.
