Brad Hogg names a Surprising Choice for T20 World Cup Keeper, Snubbing KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant

The fever of the IPL is now gradually rising; many high-scoring encounters have already been played this season. However, one team that has impressed everyone is the Rajasthan Royals.

The inaugural IPL champions have yet to lose a match in this year’s IPL. As the IPL is going to play major selection criteria for the 20th World Cup, there are numerous speculations about who’s going to keep wickets for team India.

The selectors have Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Ishan Kishan to choose from. However, Australian spinner Brad Hogg feels that Samson is the right choice for the wicketkeeping role.

Brad Hogg said, “”I think it’s going to be Sanju Samson. He has been consistent for the last couple of years. You want people with higher strike rates. Samson has been carrying the Rajasthan Royals by being a captain, with his bat upfront, and he has done it consistently. Now, it’s time for the Indian selectors to back him in the T20 format for a longer period of time. So for me, it will be Samson’s role in the Indian team.”

In four matches, Sanju Samson has scored 178 runs, including two fifties. Even Rishabh Pant has shown form after his return to the cricket field in this year’s IPL.

However, Hogg feels that Samson can play a variety of roles for Team India and can even challenge Virat Kohli for the number three spot.

Hogg said, “Rishabh Pant, he has got some fifties in this particular tournament, but he needs to show some more consistency. I think Samson can bat in a variety of positions, but at No. 3, he is the perfect choice as a keeper-batter. I will definitely put Samson in front of KL Rahul and Pant, and I think he is also putting pressure on Virat Kohli if Kohli is going batting at No. 3 in the T20 World Cup.
