During India’s second innings of the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Australian spinner Lyon clinched eight wickets. At the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, the hosts were wiped out for just 163 runs despite having a 75-run lead on Day 2.
Lyon gave some serious blow to the Team India’s batsmen, providing a fantastic opportunity for his team to win the series. No other batsman, including Cheteshwar Pujara, was able to put on a standout effort in the second innings.
The renowned off-spinner praised Pujara heavily while mentioning his solid defence in the second innings. The team’s leading scorer, Pujara, ended with 59 runs off 142 balls.
While having a press conference at the end of Day 2, Lyon said,”Cheteshwar Pujara is an unbelievable cricketer. Bounce in Gabba or turn here, nothing affects him. He has unbelievable defence. Test cricket is all about defence.”
