The third Test of the current Border Gavaskar series, which was scheduled to be held at Dharamsala from March 1 to 5, will now take place at a different venue, according to news that surfaced after the early conclusion of the Test series opener between India and Australia in Nagpur.
According to a reliable BCCI source, The third Test will take place at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
A number of reports on Sunday stated that the HPCA stadium, which has only held one Test match till now, won’t be able to host India and Australia for the third Test due to ground renovations. On Monday morning, the BCCI officially declared the same in a statement. In the meantime, it will be the second International game at Holkar stadium in less than 2 months.
According to q BCCI statement -“The third Test of the Australia tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, originally scheduled to take place at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala from 1st to 5th March has now been moved to Holkar Stadium, Indore. Owing to harsh winter conditions in the region, the outfield lacks sufficient grass density and will need some time to develop fully.”
India won the first test against Australia by an innings and 132 runs played at Vidarbha Cricket Stadium, Nagpur. With this win now India has taken a lead of 1-0 in the four match series of Border-Gavaskar trophy.
