According to a latest report a reserve day has been allocated for the India vs. Pakistan Super Four match in the Asia Cup scheduled for September 10. This addition makes it the only game apart from the final to have a reserve day. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has not officially announced this change to the playing conditions to the public.
In the matches where a reserve day has been designated, organizers will make every effort to finish the game on the announced scheduled day, even if it requires reduction in the overs. If the reserve day is required, the match’s duration will be maintained the same as it was on the last ball of the initial day of the game.
The first encounter between the two teams in this Asia Cup was held in Pallekele which was washed out due to rain. Rain made an appearance in the match between India and Nepal as well which was played at the same venue.
Considering the forecasted rain in Colombo for the upcoming week, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), who are the official hosts of the tournament, agreed with the proposal to relocate the matches from Colombo to Hambantota.
