Big Blow For Rajasthan Royals, Star Spinner Ruled Out Of IPL 2024

Australian cricketer Adam Zampa has withdrawn from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 citing personal reasons, as reported on Thursday. According to The Australian newspaper, Zampa, who was set to play for the Rajasthan Royals this season, has decided to take a hiatus from cricket to freshen him up.

Zampa was one of the two newly acquired spinners by the Rajasthan Royals during the mini-auction, has prior IPL involvement with the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant in the 2016 and 2017 seasons, and later with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2020.

In the IPL 2023 auction, Rajasthan Royals acquired Adam Zampa for Rs. 1.5 crore. During the IPL 2023 season, Zampa crawled for six matches where he managed to secure eight wickets. As a right-arm spinner, he formed part of Rajasthan’s trio of spinners alongside India’s Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.

He played six matches last season and claimed eight wickets to his name. His best performance came out against the defending champion Chennai Super Kings where he got 3 wickets at the expense of 22 runs.

Before Zampa, Indian pacer Prasiddh Krishna is also not playing for Rajasthan Royals due to injury issues.
