Big Blow For Delhi Capitals, Star All-rounder Ruled Out Of IPL 2024

Disappointing news is coming out from the camp of Delhi Capitals. Star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh won’t be able to continue with the franchise and he has been ruled out from the ongoing season of IPL 2024.

He hurt his right hamstring during the tournament and went back to Australia for more treatment. Sadly, he won’t get better soon enough to come back to the tournament.

Marsh is expected to lead the Australian team in the upcoming T20 World Cup. While it’s uncertain when he’ll be fit to return, there’s a chance he’ll be ready for the tournament starting on June 1. He might choose to skip practice matches to stay fit for the main matches, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

However, Delhi Capitals have not yet confirmed any substitute for Marsh. Previously, Jake Fraser-McGurk replaced Lungi Ngidi in DC and delivered outstanding performances. Taking this into account, DC may look to recruit a fast bowler, particularly with Anrich Nortje’s form being inconsistent. Josh Hazlewood could be a valuable addition to the DC lineup.

Rishabh Pant’s team is in eighth place on the points table, winning three out of eight matches. They must win more games to reach the playoffs. Besides Fraser-McGurk, Pant, and Tristan Stubbs, other batters on the team have struggled to perform well, which is a area to work on for the Delhi Capitals.
