Big Blow For Chennai Super Kings, This Star Player To Miss 2-3 Matches In Start Of IPL 2023

Sri Lanka star mystery spinner Maneesh Theekshana who had a great impact in his last IPL playing for Chennai Super Kings will not be available for the franchise for the first 2-3 matches in 2023 IPL.

Cricinformer has learnt that Theekshana unavailability has come after his commitment for the national team. The IPL is set to kick off in the last week of March or in the first week of April. During this venture, Sri Lanka will be touring to New Zealand for 2 Tests, 3 ODI and 3 T20.

Ahead of IPL 2023, CSK retained Theekshana and reason for this was his super amazing performance for the team. Last year he played 9 matches for CSK where he clinched 12 wickets with a decent economy of 7.46.

This year IPL will be entirely played in India on all those venues from where the franchisees belonged to. Chepauk in Chennai is one such ground where spinners get classy rotation and spin from the pitch. Theekshana along with Ravindra Jadeja could be a game changer for the team on such spin friendly tracks.
