Indian team has been performing poorly since the t20 world cup 2022, and it seems that BCCI is not taking the matter lightly; thus, they have taken severe actions towards the issue. First of all, they have suspended the whole selection committee. And after the series loss against much weaker opponent Bnalgdesh, they have decided to have a one-to-one conversation with coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma, and ex-captain Virat Kohli. Accordingly will decide how to proceed further.
Indian team is performing poorly in limited-over cricket, and it seems that they cannot break the code of modern-day cricket. First of all, they faced a humiliating loss against New Zealand, and now they have lost the series against a much weaker opponent Bangladesh. And Now, they are standing on the verge of whitewash, and if this happens, then indeed, some major changes are all set to occur in the Indian team.
After the second match loss, in a press conference, coach Rahul Dravid reiterated several times that they were not playing with a full-strength team. And from January onwards, he hopes their full-strength team should play in the nine ODI matches set to be played in India against Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia. He also said that they could not take wickets in middle overs, and with the return of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, they will improve in this department.
Whatsoever the issue these seniors will present in front of the BCCI, and irrespective of the action BCCI will take, it is sure that the Indian team is lacking the intent of modern-day cricket. They are still following the old-school technique of playing limited-overs cricket. Whereas the whole scenario is changed in modern-day cricket, it requires fearless cricket, but still, we are following the conservative approach. And nearly all the top teams are following the same path, but we need more in that department despite having enough resources. If we do not start playing the fearless brand of cricket, then in next year’s ODI world cup again, we may see the same result
