The Board Of Control For Cricket In India(BCCI) is all set to announce the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 today itself(Monday). According to a report, the selector’s committee will hold a meeting in the afternoon where the decision will be taken on the final 15 members of the World Cup Squad.
Reports suggest that the selectors will meet post-lunch to pick the World Cup squad. The team will be out post-dinner.
After becoming captain Rohit Sharma along with the head coach Rahul Dravid is testing a lot of players that too at different positions. Rohit Sharma has told so many times that he is checking players according to their abilities at different positions and the T20 World Cup in Australia is his ultimate goal.
Also, some source close to the development has said that Mohammad Shami who was not there with the team for the Asia Cup 2022 is likely to get a place for the World Cup. Also, the Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel who missed Asia Cup due to injury have been declared fit for the T20 World Cup selection. Both the bowlers were in rehabilitation under the BCCI’s medical team at National Cricket Academy(NCA), Bangalore.
The reports also suggest that Ravindra Jadeja who is out from the T20 World Cup due to a Knee injury will likely make a place for Axar Patel.
