BCCI Is All Set To Build New International Cricket Stadium In Varanasi, Check The Full Report

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will build an international cricket stadium at Ganjari in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The stadium will be equipped with modern facilities and resources. The capacity of spectators in the cricket stadium will be 30 thousand.

The way is almost cleared to construct the third international cricket stadium of Uttar Pradesh and the first international cricket stadium of Purvanchal at Ganjari in Varanasi. By March 2023, the land will be given on lease to BCCI, and then the construction work will start under the supervision of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA).

About Rs 400 crore is estimated to be spent on the stadium’s construction. Departmental officials say that BCCI will have to pay rent according to the number of matches held in the stadium. The fee of Rs 10 lakh per match and Rs 10 lakh will have to be deposited in the Promotion Committee.

UPCA Vice President Faheem Ahmed says that “Air connectivity is very good. Train and road connectivity has also become excellent. There are also international standard hotels in the old city. Making a stadium will prove beneficial in every respect. There is no other district in Purvanchal where an international stadium can be built.”

An international cricket stadium is to be built on 32 acres of Ganjari. Out of this, 14 acres of land belongs to the Gram Sabha. Twelve acres more land has been purchased. Sports Department has got 26 acres of land. Six more acres of land will be needed, which will be managed by UPCA from the farmers.
