IND vs AUS, 1st ODI: Captain Hardik Pandya Confirms The Opening Batters For The 1st Game Against Australia

India will face Australia in the three-match ODI series starting on March 17. For this series, the team’s regular captain Rohit Sharma has pulled out his name for the 1st ODI due to personal reasons. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya will be captaining India against the Aussies.

Hardik Pandya, who is leading the Indian cricket team in the absence of regular captain Virat Kohli, has announced the opening pair for the upcoming ODI series against Australia. Hardik Pandya has announced that Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan will be the opening batsmen for the team in the upcoming first ODI match.

During the past three-match ODI series against New Zealand, Shubman Gill performed exceptionally well by scoring both a double-century and a century. In contrast, Ishan Kishan did not perform up to expectations and struggled to score runs against the Kiwis. However, both players will look to score runs and secure their place in the team for the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Let us tell you that in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar trophy, India secured the win by 2-1 and the fourth Test match which happened in Ahmedabad.

Team India also made its place in the final of the ICC Test Championship where they will face Australia. It is the second time, India claiming the finalist spot in this marquee event.
