India’s T20I blistering batter Suryakumar Yadav, who has performed exceptionally well in the T20I cricket this year, was praised by the whole cricket fraternity and his premium performance in the T20 World Cup and T20I series against New Zealand was overwhelming.
After the exit from T20 World Cup 2022, Hardik Pandya is the top contender in the race for the T20I skipper for the Indian team. Earlier in his captaincy, Gujarat Titans clinched their maiden IPL title in 2022. Another batter Shreyas Iyer has shown splendid performance in ODI cricket and has the most runs this year in ODIs cricket for the Indian team.
These premium batters have performed really well this year, and thus BCCI is thinking to promote them from Category C to Category B. However, Hardik Pandya might get promoted to Category A if BCCI wants him to give a captaincy role in T20I cricket.
BCCI is looking forward to promoting the central contract of these three premium batters in the apex council meeting 2022-23.
Category A+:- In this category, the players are given 7 crores annually. Currently, there are only three players in this list. It includes Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah.
Category A:- In this, players are given 5 crores annually. Currently, the list includes R Ashwin, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, and Rishabh Pant.
Category B:- In this, 3 crores are given annually to the players. The list currently consists of Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Akshar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, and Ishant Sharma.
Category C:- 1 crore is given annually to the players in this category. The list currently consists of Shikhar Dhawan, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, Shubman Gill, Yuzvendra Chahal, Hanuma Vihari, Suryakumar Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha, and Mayank Agarwal.
