Back-To-Back Injury Woes For India In The 2nd ODI Against Bangladesh, Now This Star Goes Injured During Bowling

The second One-Day International against Bangladesh on Wednesday (December 7) at the Sher-E-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka saw up to three injuries, showing that Team India’s injury woes have not abated. Young bowler Kuldeep Sen was declared unavailable for selection by captain Rohit Sharma at the toss because to back stiffness, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Next, Rohit himself joined the list of injured players when he suffered a thumb injury during Bangladesh’s second over of their innings after the hosts elected to bat first after winning the toss. The BCCI has stated that Rohit had to leave the field for scans after dropping a catch off Mohammed Siraj’s bowling. He was later seen in the dressing room with a thick bandage covering his thumb, did not come out to bat as the opener, and is still not at the crease despite the visitors having lost three wickets.

As seam bowler Deepak Chahar only bowled three overs for the Men in Blue, it appears that India had a third injury scare. After the sixth over of the innings, Chahar was not granted another over. Chahar was not even present on the field because replacement fielder Rahul Tripathi took his place while India had the luxury of six bowlers.

Chahar’s injury situation has not yet received an official update from the BCCI, and it is still unclear whether he will bat. He reportedly has a hamstring niggle, according to some reports, although the precise severity of his injury is still unknown.

Chahar has had a bad year with injuries, missing over 5 months of activity due to a quadriceps injury he sustained in February against the West Indies and a back problem he developed while recuperating at the NCA. Despite being listed as a backup player, Chahar was unable to travel to the T20 World Cup because of a problem that arose during the home series against South Africa.
