Australian Skipper Pat Cummins Back To Australia In The Mid Of Test Series; Check Full Report

Australian skipper Pat Cummins is returning to Australia after the defeat in two consecutive Tests against India because of personal reasons; Cummins has decided to return home.

Under the captaincy of Cummins, the no.1 team of the test format surrendered against the Rohit brigade within 3 days in the first two test matches. The Kangaroo team, which came on the tour of India, has faced defeat in 2 consecutive Test matches, and hence hosts are leading the series the by 2-0 in this 4-match Test series released under the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The third Test match of the series will be played from March 1 at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

If Australian speed merchant Pat Cummins does not return to India before the third Test, then Steve Smith can take over the command of Australia in the Indore Test match. The performance of visitors wasn’t up to the mark in the first two Test matches of the current series. Indian bowlers and batters were seen too effective on Nagpur’s turning wicket and in Delhi.

Last week, Australian leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson returned home for the birth of his first child. In place of Swepson, Queensland spinner Matthew Kuhnemann got a place in Australia’s squad. Swepson is expected to join the Australian squad before the third Test.

After losing the second Test, Pat Cummins praised the Indian bowlers. He said that batting was not easy here (Delhi), but some players deviated from their target. Cummins admitted that the method of sweep shot adopted by the Australian batter took him away because kangaroo batters are not known for this.

“I thought they bowled well, it’s not easy out there, but perhaps some guys went away from their methods. Each batter has their way of going about it. I don’t think there’s any one-size-fits-all rule. Unfortunately, quite a few of us got out with cross-batted shots, which might not be our preferred method,” Cummins told reporters after losing the 2nd Test match
