The ICC ODI World Cup is all set to start from October 5 in India where all the top 10 cricketing teams will show their excellence. Before it, there is disappointing news coming out from the Australian dressing room. The captain of Aussies, Pat Cummins might be ruled out from the upcoming South Africa and India Series.
Cummins is suffering from his wrist injury and it is almost stated that the Captain of the Australian side is likely to be rested from the upcoming South Africa and the series against India. There is no official confirmation from Cricket Australia however, the medical staff of the management has revealed that there is not any kind of fracture. The outbreak has been expressed via Sydney Morning Herald.
Pat Cummins had suffered an injury to his left forearm on the opening day of the recent Test match against England at The Oval. Despite this, Cummins continued to be there in the rest of the match wrapping some cloth band on the injured area. He did not face any core problem during the bowling but while batting he was seen in pain.
The Australian squad for the upcoming South Africa and India Series is likely to be announced next week. The series against Africa will be played from August 30. After this, the Aussies will travel to India for a three-match ODI series just before the commencement of the ODI World Cup in India.
If Pat Cummins doesn’t join the Indian squad for the upcoming Series, the star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is likely to lead the team.
