The Asia Cup has been organized since the year 1984. In 2023, its 16th edition will be played in the ODI format. Nepal’s cricket team has qualified for the Asia Cup 2023 by creating history. This is the first time that Nepal’s cricket team will play in the Asia Cup. Five teams had already qualified for the Asia Cup 2023. Nepal will be the sixth team in the tournament. Apart from this, the rest of the teams are India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.

The Nepal cricket team has made its place in the Asia Cup 2023 by defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup final at the TU Cricket Ground in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Last time UAE participated in this mega event as the sixth team, but they will not be a part of the Asia Cup this time. Talking about the match, the UAE team could score only 117 runs in 33.1 overs while batting first. At the same time, Nepal’s team made UAE out of this tournament by scoring 118 runs in 30.2 overs.

A total of 13 matches will be played in Asia Cup 2023, including the league stage, super-4, and finals, although the schedule of this tournament has not been revealed yet. The Asia Cup will be played in the ODI format, in which India, Pakistan, and Nepal teams will be in the same group, while the defending champions Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh will be in the other group.
