“Anrich Nortje has been…”DC’s bowling Coach comes in support of pacer after Delhi’s second loss on trott.

Delhi Capitals are yet to open their account in this year’s IPL as the team lost its second consecutive match of the season against Rajasthan Royals by 12 runs.

The Delhi Capitals failed to chase down the target of 186 due to a brilliant performance from the Rajasthan Royals in bowling.

After the match got over, DC’s bowling coach backed his players without being critical of their performance. Hope also spoke about South African pacer Anrich Nortje, who was not in the best of his form upon his comeback.

In his post-match presentation, James Hope said, “I won’t say too much bad about the bowlers. They tried their best; they tried to execute. It’s the first time that Anrich Nortje has been at this level in a while. He’s had a fair time out of the game. If you look at all the numbers, he’s one of the premier death bowlers in the game. So we assume that he’s going to keep getting better, and we trust that he will. And, yeah, we just let him get probably 20–30 too many in that last.”

Hope further added that there are some specific parts about which the team needs to improve, one of which is their batting in the middle overs.
Hope said, “We need to tidy up what we do at the end of the game like it’s one game. I’m not going to judge us too harshly in one game. We need to tidy up our middle over there. We tend to get stuck a little bit in phases there, and we know the fix for that is Pant, and he’s played two games after a long, long layoff, and I think you’re going to see some pretty special things from him in the next few weeks.”

The Delhi capitals will next lock horns against CSK in Vizag on March 31.
