Former Indian test captain Anil Kumble has named two Indian players who have the capability to become the next superstar of team India. The former cricketer of India, identified Arshdeep Singh and Ishan Kishan as the country’s upcoming superstars, stating it is amazing to watch them develop.
Kumble, who previously worked with Arshdeep at Punjab Kings, praised the fast bowler for contributing to the success of his country. Arshdeep established a reputation for himself quickly and featured in the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup last year.
While talking on Jio Cinema, Anil Kumble said, “Having worked closely with someone like Arshdeep, it’s wonderful to see him grow into what he’s done for India. I would look at Arshdeep as the next superstar bowler coming through.”
In July 2022, the left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep faced England in his first T20I match. He has so far taken 39 wickets in 25 games. Arshdeep, who is regarded as a death-over expert and has played three ODIs, has failed to claim his first wicket in the 50-over format.
According to Kumble, Ishan Kishan may develop into the next superstar. In the last year’s ODI match against Bangladesh, Kishan scored two hundred. He was not included in the recent 3-0 ODI series victory against Sri Lanka, though. In the absence of KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant, Kishan had the opportunity to play the ODIs against New Zealand.
“From a batting perspective, Ishan Kishan is someone who’s been wonderful in the opportunities he’s got. He got a double hundred and he’s someone who I think will be a superstar,” Kumble said.
