Afghanistan Announce Schedule For 3-Match T20I Series Against Pakistan, ACB Head Gives Special Message

For the next T20I series against Pakistan, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced its schedule. On March 25, the first match of a three-match T20I series between the teams is scheduled to start. The final match of the series will be played on march 29.

The board also announced that Sharjah would host all the matches of the series. The most recent match for Pakistan was a three-match ODI series against the BlackCaps of New Zealand, which they lost. Afghanistan and Pakistan clashed with each other in September 2022 during the Asia Cup which was also played in the T20 format.

On the other side, Afghanistan recently played a three-match T20I series against UAE. They won 2 matches out of three and clinched the series. Now, Afghanistan will look to win another series by showing its dominance against Pakistan.

As the schedule was announced, the head of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, Mirwais Ashraf, spoke up and expressed how eager they are to face Pakistan and how they believed the series would help them strengthen their relationship with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

He said, “We are hopeful and looking forward to extending our ties with PCB, as well as continuing great partnerships and frequent cricketing assignments with them, which will help us further strengthen our team and our cricket altogether.

He further added, “Overall, we are excited to host and play Pakistan in what will be a thrilling series of cricket games between the two countries.

The chairman of PCB Najam Sethi also talked about the Pakistan-Afghanistan and said, “I am delighted that the inaugural Pakistan versus Afghanistan T20I series will be played later this month in a city that has a large expat community and which has always supported cricketers from both countries.”
