The Afghanistan cricket team has announced a 17-member squad for their upcoming home series against Pakistan which is scheduled to commence this week in Sharjah. Apart from it, they have also added three reserve players to the squad.
The two experienced batters Rahmat Shah and Hazratullah Zazai who were part of the Afghanistan T20I squad during their last series against UAE have been excluded from the team for the upcoming series against Pakistan. The three reserve players are Nangyal Kharoti, Zahir Khan, and Nijat Masood.
One of the most experienced players and the former captain of Afghanistan Mohammad Nabi has been included in the Afghanistan cricket team’s squad for the series against Pakistan.
Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Naseeb Khan said, “Our team has been working hard in training camp, and selectors have selected the best players for the series. I am confident our team will perform at their best and make our nation proud. We wish our team the best of luck for the series and hope to see them emerge victorious.”
He further added, “In addition, we look forward to an exciting competition between two great teams. Both nations have passionate fans who support their teams with enthusiasm and pride. As neighbors, we have a special bond and hope to showcase our cricketing skills and the spirit of friendship and sportsmanship.
