The former Indian opener and now a renowned commentator Aakash Chopra picks his best XI of the 2nd edition of the World Test Championship. Surprisingly, four Indians have made it to the list among eleven players.
Aakash Chopra has picked Usman Khawaja of Australia and Dimuth Karunaratne of Sri Lanka as his openers.
While talking to his youtube channel he said, “Let’s start with Usman Khawaja. He has batted in unreal fashion in the last two years. He was troubling India in India as well. I couldn’t find another opener that easily. I have picked Dimuth Karunaratne. The performances are not path-breaking but he has done a difficult job.”
Marnus Labuschagne of Australia and Joe Root of England have occupied their spot at number three and four respectively.
The former opener said, “Amazing batters play at No. 3, you will get a lot of them across the world, but I have picked Marnus Labuschagne. At No. 4, which is usually Kohli’s number, but Joe Root’s name will come here. In my opinion, if there is a Fab Four at the moment, he is the king of that.”
Number five among the picks of Aakash Chopra is English wicketkeeper batter Jonny Bairstow and Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has got the sixth spot.
