Aakash Chopra Criticised Pakistan Openers Along With Babar Azam, Given This Suggestion Before Sri Lanka Match

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has criticised the opening pair of Pakistan Cricket Team, which hasn’t been upto the mark. Pakistan will now face Sri Lanka in their next venture and they will have to overcome their opening problem before that.

On Tuesday, October 10, the two teams will face each other in an afternoon match in Hyderabad. The Men in Green had a strong 81-run victory over the Netherlands in their first tournament match, whereas Sri Lanka suffered a heavy 102-run defeat against South Africa in their opening game.

While speaking on his official Youtube Channel, Aakash Chopra said that Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-haq need to score runs if they want their team to do well in this tournament.

Aakash Chopra said,”The openers are not scoring runs at all. You can’t even remember the last time the openers scored runs. Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq will have another chance here, play well here at least.”

He also said that Babar Azam has not been in runs since many innings. The former cricketer feels that Abdullah Shafique could be one possible addition into the playing XI.

“Let’s be fair, even Babar Azam’s last big knock came against Nepal. That was August, September had not even started. Babar Azam has also not scored runs since then. Will they think about something else? They also have Abdullah Shafique in the squad and he did well in the one match he played in the Asia Cup.”
