Delhi Capitals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by seven wickets in the 50th match of the IPL. Virat Kohli, who hails from Delhi, had to face defeat at his home ground. Kohli scored a half-century in this match, but his innings went ineffective. After the match, Kohli shook hands with Delhi Capitals director and former India captain Sourav Ganguly, which was shocking for fans.
The teams of Delhi and RCB met face-to-face for the first time this season on 15 April. Kohli and Ganguly did not even shake hands with each other in that match. At one time, Virat was fielding on the boundary line. However, he did not look at Ganguly even once, nor did the former BCCI president look at Virat. Not only this, when both teams’ players and staff shook hands after the match, even then, both did not shake hands. This controversy has been going on since the removal of Kohli from the ODI and T20 captaincy.
Now Kohli and Ganguly joined hands, ending all the controversies. Ganguly not only shook hands but also talked to Virat for some time. Both smiled and then left. No one could believe seeing Kohli and Ganguly shaking hands. Fans shared this picture and video of both on social media.
After removing Kohli from the ODI and T20 captaincy in 2021, Sourav Ganguly, the president of the BCCI, said in a conversation with a media house that everything was discussed with Kohli before taking over the ODI captaincy and after his consent that decision was taken.
After this, Virat termed Ganguly’s words wrong in the press conference and said that he was told by the BCCI officials 90 minutes ago that Rohit would now be the captain of the ODI team in his place. Earlier, the BCCI had not held any talks with him.
