A Twist of Fate: Mujeeb Ur Rahman Out, Rashid Khan Still Unfit for T20Is

Afganistan is all set to face Sri Lanka in a three-match T-20 series. The Afganistan Cricket Board has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming T-20 series against Sri Lanka.

As per the latest buzz, Afganistan mystery spinner Mujeeb ur Rehman is all set to miss the upcoming T-20 series as he suffered an injury to his right hand in the recently concluded One Day series against Sri Lanka.

Apart from Mujeeb ur Rehman Afganistan, spin superstar Rashid Khan is also going to miss the T-20 series as he continues to recover from the back injury.

As far as Afganistan’s T-20 squad is concerned,the Afgan Gains have made four changes in their T-20 squad, which played India in January.

Apart from Mujeeb, pace bowler Mohammad Saleem,batter Rehmat Shah, and wicketkeeping batsman Ikram have also been dropped from the squad.

Mujeeb was last seen playing for Afganistan in the team that played a T-20 series against India in January; after that, he was part of the Gulf Giants in the ongoing IL T-20.

Mujeeb was also part of the team that played Sri Lanka in the recently concluded ODI series but picked up an injury, which ruled him out of the T20 series against Sri Lanka.

On the other hand, Mujeeb spin partner Rashid Khan has been out of action for quite a while now. The spin wizard went for surgery just after the World Cup and has been out of action since then.

In Rashid Khan’s absence, Ibrahim Zadran will once again lead the team in this three-match T-20 series against Sri Lanka.
