The former Indian captain and RCB star batter Virat Kohli is leading his prime form in T20 cricket. He has smashed two back-to-back centuries in this edition of IPL. With the brilliant century of Kohli, RCB posted a total of 197 runs at the loss of five wickets. However, Gujarat Titans won the match by six wickets and this eliminated RCB from the race of playoffs.
When asked about his T20 form during a mid-match interview by Ravi Shastri, Virat Kohli responded while taking a jibe at his critics. Kohli scored his seventh IPL century which is the most by any batter and it was also his eighth T20 century.
Kohli said (as quoted by HT), “A lot of people feel my T20 cricket is declining, but I don’t feel like that at all. I feel like I am playing my best T20 cricket again. I’m just enjoying myself; this is how I play T20 cricket. I look to hit gaps, a lot of boundaries, and the big ones in the end if the situation allows me to.”
Virat Kohli further added, “Strike rates, all those kinds of things, as I said in the past as well… You have to read the situation and rise to the occasion when the situation demands it, and that’s something I take a lot of pride in doing, and I’ve been doing it for a while now. I feel really good with my game at the moment and how I’m batting out there in the middle.”
In this match, both Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill scored a hundred and it was a delightful sight for the fans. RCB posted a score of 197 runs at the loss of five wickets. Chasing the target, Shubman Gill scored 104* runs to take his team home.
