Indian maestro Hardik Pandya has missed the entire Australian tour as well as the Australia Cup Final because of a quadricep injury that has sidelined him from cricket for more than a month. Nonetheless, according to the latest updates his comeback before the trip to South Africa has also been thwarted.
The Indian cricket team is currently playing a two-match Test series against the World Test Championship (WTC) title holders. After that, the teams will engage in an ODI and T20I series.
This will mark the first encounter between the finalists of the T20 World Cup 2024 since their historic win in the Caribbean.
Hardik Pandya was the star player for India in the final, taking the crucial wickets of Klaasen and Miller in a tense finish where India managed to defend just 30 runs off 30 balls.
Hardik Pandya to miss the white ball series.
Pandya’s absence has created doubts about the all-rounder playing in the upcoming series against South Africa.
The seasoned and most experienced player in India’s T20I squad Hardik Pandya has been plagued by injuries recently thereby causing him to miss some of the most important matches.
He was not selected as the next captain after Rohit Sharma’s retirement for this very reason, as mentioned by Indian cricket coach and selectors.
The hero of India’s T20 World Cup did not participate in the Asia Cup 2025 final due to a quadriceps injury, which he sustained during India’s last group match against Sri Lanka.
He was not a part of the tour to Australia and was undergoing physiotherapy at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. He was scheduled to return before the 30th of November.
Nevertheless, the all-rounder may be out of action for the entire series and thus will not be available, according to some rumors spread by News24 editor Vaibhav Bhola.
