Ben Stokes takes a massive grill at Shubman Gill: Watch

Shubman Gill, India’s Test captain, has had a memorable series against England so far, especially with his batting. In the first two Tests, Gill scored a total of 585 runs, with scores of 269, 161, and 147. He didn’t do well in his two innings in the Lord’s Test.

On Day 4 of the Lord’s Test, England captain Ben Stokes tried to rattle Gill with some sledging, saying he was done for the series. Gill came out to bat with India at 41/2 in the final session of Day 4, trying to chase a target of 193 on a difficult Lord’s pitch. As Gill walked out to bat, Stokes had some words ready for him, telling his teammates that 600 runs was enough for Gill in this series.

Unfortunately for Gill, he couldn’t add much to the score. He had a shaky time at the crease, lasting only nine balls and surviving a close call before being dismissed leg-before-wicket (LBW) to Brydon Carse for just 6 runs.

India had a bad top-order collapse, setting up a thrilling end to the third Test against England at Lord’s on Sunday. The tourists were in a better position after dismissing England for just 192 in their second innings. Off-spinner Washington Sundar took 4-22, including the wickets of Joe Root, Jamie Smith, and England captain Ben Stokes on Day 4 of the Lord’s Test.

That meant India needed 193 to win and go 2-1 up in this five-match series after both teams scored 387 in their first innings. India, though, fell to 58-4 at stumps, with the tourists needing another 135 runs to win on Monday’s final day.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was out for a seven-ball duck, caught by wicketkeeper Jamie Smith off a hook from fast bowler Jofra Archer. Karun Nair was dismissed lbw to Brydon Carse, and India captain Shubman Gill, who had already scored a double hundred and two centuries in this series, fell in a similar way. In the last over of the day, Stokes bowled nightwatchman Akash Deep, sparking loud cheers from the home crowd. However, India opener KL Rahul, after his first-innings score of exactly 100, was still there on 33 not out, with several boundaries.
