How Does An Ex-India Cricket Star View Virat Kohli’s Absence In The India-England Tests?

Virat Kohli

Team India’s star batsman, Virat Kohli, is currently on a break from international cricket but has been making buzz for quite a while now.

The former Indian captain made himself unavailable for the first two test matches, citing personal reasons, but is all set to miss the entire series because of the same.

However, Team India’s former opener and commentator, Aakash Chopra, feels that Virat Kohli’s decision to remain unavailable for the series should be respected. He said that there are reasons why the former Indian captain’s privacy should be respected.

Virat Kohli was also not part of the first two test matches of the series; his last appearance for India was in the T20 series against Afghanistan.

However, team India is all set to tackle the English Challenge for the third test match of the series on February 15, but before the start, team India received another huge blow as star wicketkeeper batter Kl Rahul has been ruled out of the third test.

Kl Rahul will be out of action because of his left sore knee in such a scenario. Karnataka’s young sensation, Devdutt Padikkal, is all set to replace Kl Rahul in the third test match.

The series between India and England currently stands at 1-1 after the completion of the first two test matches of the series.

India’s squad for the third Test: Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja*, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep, and Devdutt Padikkal.
