Sanjay Manjrekar Predicted The Champion Of IPL 2023

The first league match of IPL 2023 will be played between defending champions Gujarat Titans and four-time champions Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. For about two months, cricket lovers will get to see the thrill of instant cricket. IPL will be new this time because of some new rules added to the IPL.

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar is hopeful that the Gujarat Titans team, captained by Hardik Pandya, will start the IPL 2023 season with a bang with the confidence of winning the IPL 2022 trophy.

In IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans topped the points table with 20 points with 10 wins and 4 losses. In the playoffs, Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by the same margin of seven wickets in the first qualifier and title match and won the title in their debut season in IPL.

Entering IPL 2023 as the defending champions, Gujarat will begin the 2023 season with a match against four-time winners Chennai Super Kings at their home ground Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday.

Manjrekar said, “Their performance in the IPL 2022 auction was nothing special, but they won the title. They played many big bets, like making Hardik Pandya the captain. No one would have thought that he would turn out to be such a brilliant captain.”

Manjrekar further added, “David Miller, who had been a flop in the IPL for a long time, suddenly had the best season and carried that form into his international career. It was a team building, and real people supported it. I hope they will take the confidence of last year into this season. The Gujarat team did not change much as compared to last season.”
