ENGW vs INDW: Captain Harmanpreet Kaur Slams England Cricket Management For Abrupt Pitch After The 9 Wickets Loss

Indian Women’s Cricket Team faced England women’s at Chester-le-street where India faced 9 wickets defeat against the hosts in the 1st T20I.

After the match, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur did not look happy with the pitch and she had some harsh words for the groundsmen and match referee. According to her, the match was wet due to waterlogging and she was not satisfied with the conditions.

In the post-match presentation, Harmapreet Kaur said, “I just feel we forcefully played. Not 100 percent conditions to play. The ground was too wet. So many chances to get injured. One of our players got injured also so we were one bowler short. I’m sure we’ll bounce back.”

In this match, the England Women’s team won the toss and opted to bowl first. India managed to get 132 runs at the loss of 7 wickets. For the team, Deepti Sharma scored the highest where she played a knock of 29 runs off 24 balls. Apart from her opener Smriti Mandhana also contributed 23 runs.

For England, Sarah Glenn clinched the highest 4 wickets.

Chasing the target of 133 runs, England’s opener Sophia Dunkley smashed 61 runs off 44 balls with the help of 8 fours and one six. Her partner Danielle Wyatt made 24 runs off 16 balls and she got dismissed by Sneh Rana. Alice Capsey scored 32 runs with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes and give surety for England’s convincing win.
