3 Records Virat Kohli Made With His 83-run Innings Against KKR, Surpassed MS Dhoni, Chris Gayle And Dhawan

In the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders, the host RCB lost the match by seven wickets. However, the positive factor for RCB was star batter Virat Kohli who smashed 83 runs in 59 balls which included four fours and then the same number of sixes.

With his flurry of sixes, Kohli achieved another milestone in his batting prospects and now he has reached the number four position in terms of hitting the most sixes in the IPL. With this Kohli has surpassed the former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who had 239 sixes and now the RCB star is only behind Chris Gayle, Rohit Sharma, and AB de Villiers.

Apart from that, Kohli has also established himself as the batter with the most sixes from a single franchise. Kohli now has 241 sixes for Bengaluru in 232 innings. With this, he broke the record of former RCB giant who had 239 sixes for the team before taking retirement.

Kohli has also surpassed Shikhar Dhawan in terms of scoring the most runs against KKR and has reached number three. Dhawan has 907 runs against Kolkata based franchise while Kohli has now 944 runs. Above Kohli, there are David Warner and Rohit Sharma with 1075 and 1040 runs respectively.
