In the 17th match of the ODI World Cup 2023, India faced Bangladesh where they won the match by seven wickets and won the fourth game in this tournament. Meanwhile, the wicket-keeper batter of team India KL Rahul has praised skipper Rohit Sharma for his quick knock of 48 runs in 40 balls.
Rahul said that the innings by Rohit Sharma has reduced the pressure from the other batter and set the tone for the team.
Team India showcased sensational form at the beginning of the 2023 World Cup, securing victories in all four of their matches. Rohit Sharma has been in phenomenal form and currently leads as the top run-scorer, with 265 runs at an impressive average of 66.25 and a remarkable strike rate of 137.30.
The skipper also achieved a remarkable feat by scoring his seventh century in World Cup history during the match against Afghanistan in Delhi.
While talking about Rohit Sharma’s batting after the match against Bangladesh, “When you have batters like that going really hard in the power play, then it just becomes a bit easier for us in the middle order. Especially in the last few games when we have chased, I had to walk in with 60 runs and to get 60 runs in 151-160 balls so that he makes our job a bit easier and all the rest of the team going forward.”
Talking about the match, while batting first, Bangladesh set a target of 257 runs at the loss of eight wickets. While chasing the target, Virat Kohli scored a remarkable century and got 103 runs off 97 balls and the team won the game in just 41.3 overs.
