2023 ODI World Cup: Aakash Chopra Marks The Biggest Concern For India, Also Picks His Choice Between Marcus Stoinis And Cameron Green

Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has said that the star all-rounder of Australia, Aakash Chopra is the biggest concern for the team. He said that Australian cricket management will need more performance from Maxwell from the bat. Australia will face the host India on October 8 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Aakash Chopra mentioned that Australia has yet to make a final decision on their wicket-keeper for the upcoming tournament. He emphasized the need for Glenn Maxwell to contribute more with the bat, suggesting that Maxwell’s batting performance will be crucial for Australia’s success in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

Maxwell has gathered 3,495 runs in 129 matches, maintaining an average of 33.61 and an impressive strike rate of 124.69. Australia really needs Maxwell power-hitting in the tournament.

“They have not finalized their keeper. Both Josh Inglis and Alex Carey are good players, but who will play in the XI? Maxwell claimed four wickets, but Australia needed him more with the bat. This is one area which is still a bit of a concern. Spin is a potential problem that they might encounter,” said Chopra.

Aakash Chopra also highlighted that Australia might go with Marcus Stoinis rather than Cameron Green. He said that Stoinis has the ability to bat more dynamically lower down the order.

“Cameron Green and Marcus Stoinis, the role is not clear at all. Stoinis’ chances to perform are bright because he bats better in the lower order compared to Green. The team is good, let’s see how they go. My prediction is they will reach the top four,” Chopra added.
