The Indian Team is all set for the 3-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. However before the series, the team’s young all-rounder Washington Sundar was ruled out of the series due to a shoulder Injury.
Sundar’s injury has eventually opened the door for RCB’s another prolific all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed who has got his maiden call-up for this Zimbabwe tour.
Shahbaz Ahmed came into the limelight after playing some crucial knocks from the bat and picking up some key wickets at regular intervals of time for his IPL franchise. Ahmed was first picked in IPL in the year 2020 and from there on he started an illustrious journey with the then-led Virat Kohli’s team.
The team did not leave Shahbaz Ahmed even during the mega auction and in the IPL 2022, Shahbaz Ahmed managed to get 219 runs from the bat and also picked 4 wickets to his name.
So far Shahbaz Ahmed has played 29 IPL matches, in which he has scored 279 runs and grabbed 13 wickets to his kitty.
