Former Pakistan leg spinner who is known for his blunt statements has now targeted the star Indian leg spinner Yuzvedra Chahal via his Youtube Channel. The former leggie stated that the Indian selectors have made a correct choice by excluding Yuzvendra Chahal from the squad for the Asia Cup 2023.
Kaneria has stated that Chahal has not performed brilliantly in recent times and Kuldeep Yadav is ahead in terms of giving the break-throughs during the crunch situations.
While speaking to his Youtube Channel, Kaneria said,”Yuzvendra Chahal doesn’t deserve to be in Team India right now. He has been very inconsistent. Kuldeep Yadav, on the other hand, has picked up wickets regularly and can be effective in the middle overs. The selectors took the right call by going with Kuldeep over Chahal.”
Speaking on the exclusion of Chahal, former Indian bowler Ajit Agarkar who is now the chief selector for BCCI said that it was so difficult to keep two wrist-spinners in the same squad.
Chahal has played 72 One Day Internationals for India in which he has grabbed 121 wickets at an average of 27.13. During this, the economy of Chahal has been 5.27 with his career best – 6/42.
