Yuvraj Singh’s father drops a massive statement on his Son says…

Yuvraj Singh is one of the most remarkable middle order players that the game has witnessed, and he has an unmatched commitment to Indian cricket. He fought against the dreadful disease cancer, but he was successfully able to contribute to India’s win in the 2011 World Cup; this victory made him the Player of the Series for the same reason. Only after the World Cup 2011 did he get to know about his sickness. He struggled to bring out in him that peak for the rest of his cricketing career with the Indian team.

Yuvraj won hearts in his style in the 2007 ICC World T20 and the historic 2011 World Cup, his father Yograj Singh says on a podcast.

“I would say this- if Yuvraj Singh had died from cancer and then made India win the Cup, I would have been a proud father for our country. I still am very much proud of him. And I did say to him even over the phone how proud I am of you, because it was like I wou-ld want him to play even from the stage where he was spitting blood. I told him, ‘Don’t worry; you won’t die. Win this Cup across the world in the name of India,'” said Yograj on Unfiltered by Samdish podcast.

Despite the fact that Yuvraj is a significant finisher in Indian cricket, his father feels that more would have been achieved by the stylish southpaw.

“If Yuvraj Singh had worked even fractionally like his father, he would have been one of the greatest cricketers in India,” Yograj said.

In the 2011 World Cup, he scored 362 runs at a mean average of 90.50 runs and a strike-rate of 86.19 with his vital displays in the championship victory. After recovering in the following year from lung cancer, he only played a couple of games for India before retiring in 2019.
