Yuvraj Singh Breaks Silence: No Political Aspirations for Lok Sabha

One of the greatest all-rounders of the game, Yuvraj Singh, has finally denied the media reports that surged on the internet suggesting that he would contest the Lok Sabha election from Gurdaspur, Punjab.

The veteran all-rounder took to his social media account to give a clarification of the same saying, saying that he has no intention to enter politics and would continue to help the needy through his foundation, You We Can.

In his post, Yuvraj Singh said, “Contrary to media reports, I’m not contesting elections from Gurdaspur. My passion lies in supporting and helping people in various capacities, and I will continue to do so through my foundation, You We Can. Let’s continue making a difference together to the best of our abilities.”.

Earlier, there were reports that the former Indian cricketer would contest in the upcoming general elections on a ticket from the Bharatiya Janata Party from Gurdaspur, replacing actor Sunny Deol, who is currently MP from that seat.

The reports surged after Yuvraj Singh was seen meeting with Nitin Gadkari.
Yuvraj Singh is one of the biggest players in the history of Indian cricket. Yuvraj’s career is full of numerous milestones that show his cricketing legacy.

Notably, his six sixes in a single over during the 2007 T20 World Cup and recording the fastest T20I fifty (at the time) in just 12 balls are the records that have etched his name in cricketing history books forever. His pivotal role in India’s 2011 ICC World Cup victory, where he was named the Man of the Tournament, is another feather in the flock of legends.
