“You should go to domestic….” Former Indian Cricketer Gambhir Lashed Out At Arshdeep Singh

India lost the second T20I against Sri Lanka by 16 runs, and with this win, the visitors managed to level the three T20I match by 1-1. Indian players committed a lot of mistakes in yesterday’s game. But one of the big mistakes made by the Indian bowler was giving the extra runs. India’s young speedster Arshdeep Singh bowled 5 no-ball in the match. This bizarre performance from a very young talented pacer wasn’t acceptable internationally.

Looking at this issue, two-time world cup champion Indian team member and former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir lashed out at the young left-arm pacer. It said you should have played domestic matches to get the rhythm if you are making a comeback in the national team after injury.

“Imagine seven balls, and it’s like bowling more than 21 overs. Everyone bowls bad balls or plays bad shots, but it’s about the rhythm. If you are coming after an injury, you should not be playing an international game.”

This type of performance at the international is not acceptable to any bowler. If you are injured, play domestic matches and practice for 15-20 overs, then return to this level.

“You should go to domestic cricket and get your rhythm back because no-balls are unacceptable. Whoever is injured and there is a long layoff has to go back to domestic cricket, bowl 15-20 overs, come back, and then play an international game, and that was squarely seen when Arshdeep Singh was struggling with his rhythm.”

The last and final encounter of the T20I series will be played on 7th January in Rajkot.
