“You cannot compare Suryakumar and….” Kapil Dev Blunt Reply Over The Critics Of Suryakumar Yadav

Recently an ODI series of three matches was played between India and Australia. The Indian team lost this series by 2-1.

The performance of India’s best batter and World T20I best batter, Surya Kumar Yadav, was the worst in this series. No runs came out of Surya’s bat in three consecutive matches as he only played three balls in all three matches and got out on the first ball in every match.

Hereafter, the former cricketer and fans gave a big statement regarding this and suggested picking Sanju Samson in his place.

Former captain Kapil Dev, who won India the first World Cup in cricket history, has given a big statement regarding Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson. He has given this statement regarding Sanju Samson being told better than Suryakumar Yadav.

Kapil Dev said, “If a player plays good cricket, he should get more chances in the team. You cannot compare Suryakumar and Sanju Samson with each other. If Sanju was also going through a bad phase, you would have started talking about someone else. A cricketer who has performed well always gets more opportunities. Don’t compare Surya with Sanju Samson. This doesn’t seem right.”

Suryakumar Yadav did not score a single run in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against Australia. After being dismissed on the first ball in three matches, he returned to the pavilion. Surya, who played at number four during the third ODI in Chennai, was sent to bat at number seven. However, the change in the batting order did not change Surya’s fortunes, and he was also dismissed without opening the account in the third ODI. Many former cricketers and pundits feel that sending Surya down was wrong as it would have dented his confidence.

Kapil Dev supported the team’s decision and said, “It is easy to talk after the match ends. The purpose of sending Suryakumar Yadav at number seven is to give him a chance as a finisher. Changing the batting order in ODIs is not a new thing. This has happened many times in the past as well. This should not happen. If the team management decides to back Suryakumar Yadav, then he should get more chances. Yes, people will interact and give their views, but ultimately it will be the management’s decision.”
