Yograj Singh, the father of famous Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, is known for speaking his mind. He has often mentioned MS Dhoni, saying that Yuvraj’s cricket career was hurt because of Dhoni’s captaincy. In the past, he even said he would never forgive Dhoni for cutting his son’s career short. But recently, Yograj made a different comment, saying he doesn’t see a difference between Yuvraj and other Indian players, including Dhoni.
Yograj has always shown his love for Yuvraj and wanted to see him succeed. Yet, his latest words seem to contrast with what he used to say about Dhoni. On the ‘Find a Way with Taruwar Kohli’ podcast, he mentioned, “I’ve never differentiated between Yuvraj and the others, not even Dhoni.”
Back in September 2024, Yograj was critical of Dhoni, claiming he harmed Yuvraj’s career. He said on the Zee Switch YouTube channel, “I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at himself. He’s a great cricketer, but what he did to my son is unforgivable. That man has ruined my son’s chance to play four or five more years.”
Dhoni and Yuvraj played together for years, achieving great success, including winning the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup. They were on the field together when Dhoni hit that memorable six to win the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka.
After battling cancer, Yuvraj had a rocky comeback, missing the 2015 World Cup but playing in the 2014 World Cup and the 2017 Champions Trophy, where India finished as runners-up both times. Dhoni, now 43, is still active in the Indian Premier League, impressing fans with his skills. Meanwhile, Yuvraj was recently part of the India Masters team that clinched the India Masters League title.
