In a major development, Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Indian cricket team’s primo opener, was taken to the hospital last night, Tuesday, as he was having very strong stomach pain. The Indian southpaw seems to be suffering from acute gastritis and felt the pain right after the Mumbai vs. Rajasthan match in the Syed Musthaq Ali Trophy.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has a few scans done
According to Devendra Pandey of Indian Express, the player was in trouble during the whole match and the pain got worse post-game, after which he was admitted to Aditya Birla Hospital. The doctors started IV treatment and gave him instant medication.
Jaiswal also underwent a few scans and an ultrasound and has been advised to take best rest in amid the busy cricketing season. BCCI has yet to give an update on Jaiswal’s health, but a report is expected in the early hours of Wednesday.
Jaiswal’s good luck missing key India events
Jaiswal, who was in pain during the SMAT 2025 match vs. Rajasthan, had a very bad day with the bat and scored only 15 (16), which included three fours.
Mumbai was victorious in the match but were eliminated from the tournament. Now Jaiswal, who is not in India’s T20I squad, can enjoy a lengthy spell of rest as there is no international event till mid-January, when the Kiwis come to India for a series.

Despite the recent misfortune, the 23-year-old left-hander has been quite consistent in his batting throughout the month, as he played for India in One Day Internationals against South Africa, where he hit his first ODI century.
