The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 ended on Sunday, March 17th, marking a historic moment as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clinched their maiden title in both the IPL and WPL. Their victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi scripted a significant chapter in history.
The WPL 2024 marked the tournament’s second edition, introduced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to bolster women’s cricket. The tournament started on February 23 when last year’s finalists, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians clashed with each other.
Delhi Capitals (DC) women secured the top position in the league stage, registering 6 wins out of 8 games, which propelled them directly into the final. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI) claimed the second spot with 5 wins, while Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) finished third with 4 wins.
