“Would not have Sam Curran…”Virendra Sehwag blasts Sam Curran for his performance against Gujarat Titans

Virendra Sehwag blasts Punjab kings Stand-in skipper Sam Curran for his performance, saying that he would not have him in his side as a batting or bowling all-rounder. The Punjab Kings have so far suffered their sixth loss of the season. Sam Curran scored 20 of 19 deliveries in the match and picked up 1 wicket in his two overs, giving away 18 runs.

In his interaction with Cricbuzz, Sehwag was not very impressed with Sam Curran’s performance, saying that someone who can ball a bit and bat a bit is not going to help his side win matches. Sehwag feels that Curran either needs to help his side with the ball or with the bat, which the all-rounder has been struggling with.

Sehwag said, “I wouldn’t keep Sam Curran as a batting all-rounder or a bowling all-rounder.
Because such a player is of no use, who does some batting and some bowling. Either you win the game with your batting or you win the game with your bowling. Either you hit the bullseye or you don’t perform at all.”

Sam Curran is so far having a terrible season with the bat. In eight matches, the English all-rounder has scored 153 runs at an average of 19. While bowling, he has so far picked up 11 wickets at an economy rate of 8.79.
