Former team India’s skipper Sunil Gavaskar was not at all impressed by Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya after he was taken to cleaners by former Indian skipper Ms. Dhoni.
Hardik had a good day, with the ball picking up two wickets; however, in the final over of CSK’s innings, he was hit for three consecutive sixes by Ms. Dhoni and gave away 20 runs in his final four balls.
In his interaction with Star Sports, he said, “Probably the worst kind of bowling that I’ve seen for a long, long time. It almost looks like I’ve had this embrace with my hero. I’ve got a bowling kind of delivery that he’s going to hit for sixes. One six is fine. The next one is again a length ball when you know that this batter is looking for a length ball to hit. The third ball is again a full toss on the leg side, and he’s looking for it and hits it for a 6. Absolutely ordinary bowling, ordinary captaincy.”
Gavaskar also referred to the moment when Dhoni and Hardik Pandya had an interaction before the match. Hardik went and hugged the former Indian captain in a moment that was all over social media.
Talking about the match, Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs in spite of Rohit Sharma’s hundred but got no support from the other end.
