“Work in Drama…”Wasim Akram Criticizes Pakistan Star’s Celebration During PSL Match

One of the greatest pace bowlers in the history of cricket, “Sultan of Swing,” Wasim Akram, criticizes Pakistan’s opener Abdullah Shafique for his “silent celebration” after taking a good catch to dismiss Imad Wasim.

Abdullah Shafique took a brilliant catch at first slip to dismiss Imad Wasim and then celebrated with a gesture, putting a finger over his mouth. Wasim Akram was not at all happy with the gesture and celebration done by Abdullah Shafique.

Reacting to the same, Wasim Akram said, “No doubt, great catch, but who is responsible for dropping 36 catches in Australia’s Test series? Who will answer for that? Abdullah should work in the drama industry rather than cricket.”

On the other hand, the Pakistan cricket board has been looking for a foreign coach with coaching instincts with the Pakistan cricket team, at least till the champions trophy.

A source close to PCB said that the board is in talks with Australian all-rounders Shane Watson, Mike Hesson, and Phil Simmons to see if any of them are interested in coaching Pakistan’s national team.

The source said, “Initial talks have been held, but it is too early to say if either of them is interested since at least two of them have prior assignments in other leagues as well.”

But the way Pakistan cricket board deals with foreign coaches in recent times, any of the high-profile coaches are wary of taking on the duties as coaches for the Pakistan national team.
