Will Mitchell Marsh’s Captaincy lead Australia In The T20 World Cup? Andrew MacDonald Has His Say

The mighty Australians are all set to take the field in the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup under the captaincy of Mitchell Marsh.

Since Australia skipper Aaron Finn retired from cricket after Australia’s 2022 World Cup triumph,. There has been no official captain made by Australia in T-20 format.

Marsh, who was provided rest after the ODI World Cup for India series, led Australia in their previous T-20 series, which they played. He was the captain of the team, which even played against South Africa and the West Indies.

Australian head coach Andrew MacDonald has backed Mitch Marsh to lead the Australian team in the upcoming T-20 World Cup.

Speaking of the same, Andrew MacDonald said, “I think all roads will lead to Mitch, so I just have to get that ticked off in certain areas. We’re happy and comfortable with the way he’s been able to operate with that T20 team,” McDonald added. “We think he’s the leader for the World Cup, and I think that will just be a matter of due course.”

Cummins, who has won the World Cup and World Test championships for Australia, is yet to prove his worth in the Twenty20 format of the game. However, Cummins is all set to lead Sunrisers Hyderabad in the upcoming IPL season.
