Will Babar Azam Choose a Pakistani Pacer or Jasprit Bumrah for Defending 10 Runs in the Final Over ?

Indian pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah has made a mark in world cricket as a death-over specialist. Often regarded as the king of Yorkers, Jasprit Bumrah will be the ultimate pick of any captain when it comes to defending a target. However, Pakistan’s skipper, Babar Azam, has another perspective regarding the same.

In a recent interaction, Babar was asked to choose between Naseem Shah and Jasprit Bumrah to defend 10 runs in the final over. Babar replied to this question, saying that he would prefer Naseem Shah to do the job for him.

In a show, the host asked Babar a question that said, “One over, T20 match; you have to win the match; you have two options to defend 10 runs; whom will you give the last over, Naseem Shah or Jasprit Bumrah?”

Answering this question, Babar Azam repliedNaseem Shah.”.

Babar also showered praise on the pacer after his return to cricket from injury.

Babar Azam said, “Naseem Shah. Firstly, I felt so happy for Naseem for the way he returned to cricket after injury and the way he recovered. His skills are exceptional. We don’t often see talent like this in Pakistan.”

Babar Azam further added, “There are others too, like Shaheen Shah Afridi. Shaheen is in a class of his own. but Naseem is on a similar trajectory, gaining valuable experience.”

Babar Azam has been reappointed as the skipper of Pakistan in white-ball format, replacing pacer Shaheen Afridi. He will be leading the side in the upcoming T-20 series against New Zealand.
