WI vs IND: India Sealed The ODI Series By 3-0, Shubman Gill, Chahal Washed Out The Hosts

India defeated West Indies by 119 runs in the third ODI. Batting first in the rain-hit match, Team India set a revised target of 257 runs in 35 overs against the West Indies under the Duckworth-Lewis rule. In reply, the entire West Indies team was bundled on 137 runs in 26 overs. Brandon King and Nicholas Pooran scored the highest 42-42 runs each for their team.

For India, Yuzvendra Chahal took the maximum four wickets for India, while Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Siraj bagged 2-2 wickets each.

After the ODI series, the Indian team will play a five-match T20 series against the host from July 29. Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team in the T20 series. Two prime players – Virat and Jasprit Bumrah will also not play the T20 series as they have been rested due to workload management.

In the third ODI, rain interrupted the game twice and both times during the Indian innings. When the match was stopped for the first time, the umpires reduced it to 40 overs. At the same time, after stopping for the second time, the match was allocated to 35 overs. Batting first, India had scored 225 for three in 36 overs till the game was stopped for the second time.

With this win, Team India has kicked West Indies in the ODI series. India won the ODI series 3-0. The Indian team has been playing ODI series in the West Indies for 39 years and for the first time, they have made a clean sweep of the Caribbean team at their home.

Young and dashing Indian batter Shubman Gill was adjudged the player of the match for his unbeaten 98. Shubman scored 205 runs in three matches in this series and was awarded with the Man Of The Series as well.

Under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan, the men in blue have managed to sweep the series. Now it’s time for Rohit Sharma and team to be ready with all the arms for the upcoming T20 series.
